About the Program
Innovation management is the cornerstone of highly successful companies, especially those that continue to be successful over the years and decades. This continual innovation is the result of design thinking practices which link inspiration to delivery, concept to showroom floor, and start-up to conglomerate.
Design thinking is a structured approach to promoting innovation and problem-solving creativity. Design thinking is not a new approach. It has been around for centuries and is evident in the art, architecture, and inventions of mankind.

By examining the steps to achieving great design and maximum utility of product, design thinking approaches provide a structure in which to develop new solutions to problems and new products to sell. This course is designed to help participants think like designers to generate innovation, and to help teams to produce more innovation and creativity.

Since design thinking is based on doing rather than thinking, the course challenges the participants to apply the techniques as they learn them to create new ideas and solutions.

Being part of the Agile universe, Design Thinking therefore provides for mindset and toolset equally, equipping individuals, teams, and organizations with the capabilities to innovate in a structured fashion.

The ability to innovate and to be creative is nothing that someone is (usually) born with, but something that can be systematically learned, through this structured experience: By exploring the various stages of a design thinking framework, participants will be design thinkers via highly interactive group exercises.

Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for:
  • (Project) Manager or (project team) members who would like to understand about design thinking concepts and principles
  • (Project) teams that are chartered with solving (unstructured) problems, who need to gain a better understanding on the mechanics of driving innovation forward
  • For anyone that would like to learn about the required mindset and a structured process for innovation management

Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
  • Understand the concepts of design thinking methodology
  • Use concepts like ideation and empathy to prototype solutions
  • Apply critical thinking to problems and solutions
  • Drive structured innovation through the application of a design thinking roadmap
